My Topic/ Content Goals

In today's society, there are many exquisite relationship contexts. Three of these relationship contexts that are quite common regard the relationships encountered at school, work, and/ or romantic relationships. More than often, each of these relationships have certain topics which typically instigate disputes when taken into retrospect.

At school, one is enabled to part take in either a benevolent and/ or malevolent relationship with their peers or them self. One common topic that is highly disputable in a school setting is group projects. More than often, there is one, maybe two classmates in a group that are not carrying their weight. As a result, the remaining group members have no other choice but to pitch in a more than benevolent amount of effort for the group in order to receive an optimal grade. Another example is that a student and a teacher may be in a dispute that regards time management. From the student's perspective, they may prioritize one class over another; such as a music class ahead of a science class. This student may be pursuing a career in music, but the science class may detriment their practice time in order for their music career to excel at a more optimal rate.  The teacher may rebuttal with the argument regarding that the science class is general knowledge for everyone, and each and every one of us has the potential to make a difference for the future generations. Second, college may be viewed as a foundation to where one equips themselves with the wisdom, materials, and/ or connections for an auspicious career to come. Taken into retrospect, one topic that may arise in disputes is the competition between the students in order to attain their dream career. some of the many ways students equip themselves to standout in this "Competition" may be to spend countless hours in the library in attempt to obtain the most optimal GPA, spend countless hours volunteering in their potential field of work, or spend countless hours practicing a sport or instrument.

Another relationship context that a topical dispute may arise is in the work environment. One common topic that is usually disputed between the employee and the employer is their salary. This conflict is typically instigated by the employee regarding their productivity and benevolence towards the company as a whole. Therefore, the employee is more than likely to request for an increase in wages from the employer. From the employer's perspective, their main goal is to obtain the maximum amount of profits possible. This often instigates relational issues between the employer and the employee. Another topic that is disputed in the work place are group projects. In a particular group, they may dispute who gets what done, the deadlines when to complete one's designated tasks, and much more. And in the group, not every worker has the same standards as each other, therefore each of their productivity levels will differ from one another, often sparking intrapersonal conflicts within the group.

A third relationship context that topical disputes are more than likely to stir up is a romantic relationship. Romantic relationships, somewhere down the line, will bring up the question whether or not the couple is mentally and financially ready to take on the blessings and burdens of raising children and/ or pets. This will often arise the money dispute. For example, one potential solution in this particular situation is that the spouse who earns the most income will be the deciding factor regarding significant decisions. Another topical dispute that may pop in a romantic relationship is how the couple should spend their time. For example, one spouse may like to go on adventures and travel and the other may enjoy spending quality time with each other and/ or their friends and family.

Regarding the relationship contexts of school, work, and a romantic relationship, there are many topical issues to be disputed. One similar topical issue present amongst these three is time management. In the school setting, one must wisely manage their time between studying and other extra- curricular activities in order to keep up their GPA and have fun at the same time. In the work place, groups must efficiently work together in order to meet deadline and increase the overall productivity of their company. In romantic relationships, couples must balance their individual "Guy and Girl time" in order to keep their relationships with their friends intact. Also, they must balance family time and quality time with each other for the optimal level of happiness. The topical issue of money is mainly present within the work place, regarding salaries and wages of the employees, and romantic relationships, regarding who gets to make the final decisions. In the school setting, the issue of money is indirectly related because you are sculpting the foundation for your future career, which is where you will encounter issues with finances. And as time progresses, there will probably be new topical issues that society will encounter, but hopefully, we as a whole will become more knowledgeable and attain more wisdom along the way in order to more efficiently resolve all these topical issues that are to be encountered.

What's going on with the Leonard and Penny in this Big Bang conflict scene?

Seems Leonard is getting all worked up about Penny having a male musician friend sleep over at her apartment:

What interpretations is Leonard making on the situation? What is his perception of things?

What topical, relational and interest goals are perceived to be at stake for both Leonard and Penny?

Which emotions (and why?) escalate from the conflict and the thwarted goals /interests/needs?

How could these characters behaved or communicated differently to understand each other?
